  • F-35 Tug o’ War  Mark Collins on “F-35: Flim-Flammery From a Senior RCAF General ….”  “…. NORAD does not need to “match” any foreign fighters’ stealth capabilities. The potential aerial threat is from bombers. China has no long-range bombers capable of threatening North America while Russia does. Stealth would be of use if incoming bombers had fighter escort–but I have seen no indication that they might have. So no need for stealthy fighters to deal with escorts ….”
  • Note who made this announcement…. “Foreign Minister John Baird said Friday the federal government will spend as much as $40 million for flight simulation technologies for the Canadian military.  The investment, which for the first three years is worth $22.6 million, could rise to $39.5 million over five years. The money will go to the Ottawa professional services division of Canadian company CAE Inc., to provide the latest cutting-edge simulation technology to help Canada’s military undertake its missions both at home and abroad.  Baird, who made the announcement on behalf of Defence Minister Peter MacKay, said simulation represents one of the “most advanced, sophisticated tools” available to modern armed forces, and Canadian Forces deserve no less.  Our military personnel play a fundamental role in protecting all Canadians whether defending our sovereignty, performing search and rescue and helping others with disaster relief right here at home, or advancing Canada’s security interests and promoting Canadian values around the world,” Baird said at Carleton University’s Visualization and Simulation Centre ….”
  • …. versus who issued the news release“…. John Baird, Member of Parliament for Ottawa West-Nepean and Foreign Affairs Minister, on behalf of the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, and the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada and Minister for Status of Women, announced that the Government of Canada is investing in flight simulation technologies to support the effective training and preparation of Canadian Forces personnel …. “  I’m sure it had nothing to do with this….
