  • Update on the (eventual) replacement of Canada’s Sea Kings  “…. DND continues to closely monitor progress towards achieving all delivery requirements for the interim maritime helicopters, as well as the potential impact on the schedule for delivery of the final version of the Cyclone. The Canadian Forces expect to take formal delivery of the interim maritime helicopters in 2012.”
  • Wanted:  Someone to build pads where the big guns can fire in Valcartier  “…. The Department of National Defence (DND) has assigned Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) the task, to be carried out by the Canadian Forest Service – Laurentian Forestry Centre (CFS–LFC), of managing and constructing two artillery pads within the Valcartier Garrison’s range and training area. The artillery pads are essentially vast zones that are levelled and gravelled and where mobile artillery equipment can be installed.  In order to carry out this assignment, NRCan wishes to engage the services of a contractor with experience in the construction of forest roads to build one artillery pad, and optionally, to build a second artillery pad. The work will be carried out during fiscal year 2012-2013 but mainly during the summer/fall 2012 ….”
