What’s Canada Buying? August 24, 2012
- An editorial defending spending (potentially) big bucks to replace the aging Snowbirds “…. Not every government or even personal purchase can meet a strict cost-benefit analysis. How does one place a value on the pleasure one receives from gazing upon a beautiful garden, walking into an architecturally inspired building or watching Canada’s top pilots best the rest of the world? Those are the kinds of intangibles that make life worth living. As Jesus said more than 2,000 years ago, “Man does not live by bread alone …” It’s the little extras – and sometimes the big extras – that add value to our lives. So get ready for the flips and flops that your stomach is going to make as you watch partisan politicians try to turn this issue into a wreck for the government that could ultimately do in the Snowbirds. We mustn’t allow that to happen.”
- “…. The Department of National Defence has a requirement for (sheet metal and barbed wire) for delivery by December 31, 2012 to CFB Montreal, and CFB Edmonton ….”
- “…. The Department of National Defence has a requirement for the procurement of one (1) commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) ruggedized, portable forensic light system to be delivered to Richmond, ON ….”
