Vendor (Urgently) Sought to Install Anti-IED System for Testing

Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) – Suffield, Medicine Hat, Alberta, is conducting an extremely urgent and important R&D program to counter the threat from Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in current and future operations. This program will significantly enhance the survivability of CF personnel (mounted and unmounted) and CF vehicles. The intent of this program is to test various pieces of mechanical, electrical and electronic Counter IED (C-IED) equipment mounted on CF vehicles. In support of this R&D program, DRDC Suffield has a requirement for a Contractor to design, fabricate and install the necessary mechanical and electrical connections required to mount this C-IED equipment on/in the vehicles.

Plain English translation:

  • What?  Seeking vendor to mount electronic counter-IED equipment to vehicles
  • When?  Apparently ASAP – tender bid deadline is 13 Nov 09
  • Where?  Suffield, Alberta
