America’s Face-saving Propaganda About Marjah (PDF at non-terrorist site)

Monday, 01 March 2010 17:59 administrator

The invading American and NATO forces have announced that they are clearing the last pockets of resistance in Marjah but this is no more than an eye-wash. The fact is that the invading troops are now entangled in a long war in Marjah. The battles are going on in Marjah according to the tactical plan of Mujahideen. With the passage of every day, the enemy suffers life and material losses.

From the first day of operation February 13, 2010, the enemy troops have not been able to extend their writ to other areas of Marjah except areas, which were evacuated by Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate at the beginning of the operations as per a tactical plan to encircle the enemy forces.

When the enemy new strategy faced fiasco, they ludicrously announced to have cleared the areas. However, the ground realities are contrary to what they are claiming.

The enemy launched operations in Kunduz province to lessen pressure on their troops in Marjah. They thought Mujahideen will send some groups of their forces from Marjah to Chardaara district of Kunduz province. This will give them a breath of relief. Even they now speak of massive operations in Kandahar province. All these efforts by the enemy are aimed at distracting the attention of the public of the world from Marjah and reducing Mujahideen’s stiff resistance in Marjah. This moribund endeavor will also fail because Mujahideen are not short of manpower and armed men. The public are with them. Whenever, Mujahideen need more groups of armed men, they draw them from among the people. The Afghans share common goals with the Mujahideen and they know that the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate are protectors of their Islamic and national values. The Afghan Mujahideen lay down their lives to secure our cultural values, dignity, human rights, freedom and noble traditions from the aggression of the invaders. Therefore, the people stand by Mujahideen and support their cause.

The Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan believes American invaders and their allies will always find pretexts to continue their occupation of Afghanistan. Terrorism, democracy, human rights, women rights are just mere slogans used by American colonialism to reach their imperialist goals in this part of the world and in Afghanistan. Many cases of tortures of detainees in Guantanamo, Bagram, Abu Gharib jail, NAMA camp in Iraq and the secret PRTs jails in military bases in Afghanistan, show flagrant and brutal violations of human rights by American interrogators and their troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. If they are really protectors of human rights, why they have been perpetrating these violations for the past eight years. In Bagram, Guantanamo and other secret jails in Afghanistan, miserable detainees are deprived of their humane rights and do not have access to legal advisors. They are deprived of their rights to defend themselves at the courts. Is this not a shame that the violators of human rights. i.e. American, claim being advocate of human rights in the world? They want to become the only policeman, magistrate and judge of the world.

If the people of Afghanistan want freedom and a system of government based on their wants, Islamic culture, why America does not give this legitimate right to the Afghans and why they suffocate their voices under the notorious name of terrorism?

The demand of the Afghans is in line with all laws of human rights but the current American domination and subjugation of Afghanistan is against all norms and principles of human rights. The bottom line is that America is a new form of colonialist power which want to maintain its dominance over the world under lustrous slogans of democracy and human rights while in reality, they are enemy of human values and dignity more than any one else.

We ask the invading Americans why do you kill innocent youth, men and old men before the very eyes of their family members during night raids? Whey did you kill an infant of four days in Gorbez, Khust province last year? Was he a terrorist or a just your cutthroat soldiers want to strike terrors in the heart of common Afghans by resorting to such bestial acts, not sparing even an infant of four days?

The operations that you are conducting in Marjah under the name of fight against terrorism is a tyrannical and colonialist war being waged against freedom-fighters because the Mujahideen in Marjah are fighting for their freedom, human dignity, country and Islamic values. We are sure that no invader will ever suffocate the voice of truth in the throat of the freedom-loving people of Afghanistan by dent of military power. In the long run, the oppressed Afghans will carry the day in this battle between truth and evil, if God willing.

TALIBAN PROPAGANDA WATCH: (Tiny) Crack in Taliban Messaging?

It’s not much, but it jumped out at me.

Usually, Taliban propaganda references to Afghan troops or government officials uses the term “puppet”. For example, from today:

…. In another news, the NATO and U.S invading terrorists backed by their Afghan puppet terrorists, after having faced ten days of hardship and hunger in Marjah ….

This latest interview attributed to the Taliban’s spokesperson for southern Afghanistan, Qari Muhammad Yousuf, (Scribd.com version) includes the usual exaggerated stats about ISAF and Afghan casualties. How they referred to Afghan security forces, though, is different:

Destroyed tanks 78
Foreign troops killed 382
Destroyed ranger vehicles 4
Domestic soldiers killed 36.

Could this be part of what some (more here and here) see as a “kinder, gentler” Taliban campaign while NATO is paying kinetic attention to Marjah? The Arabic version of the same interview (Scribd.com version in Arabic here, and Google English translation of Arabic here) refers to “customer” casualties (a variation of the “puppet” messaging), so it could also be a translating glitch on the part of the Taliban Info-machine.

Still, nice messaging or not, I’m going to bet my buck on the Taliban staying nasty once NATO leaves the area (unless Afghan security forces are strong enough to hold the area credibly).

Dozens of Americans killed as 7 U.S. armored tanks eliminated in Marjah

Thursday, 25 February 2010 17:55 By Qari Yousuf Ahmadi
HELMAND, Feb. 25 – The brave Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate report from Helmand province that several U.S soldiers were killed as seven of the American armored tanks were separately destroyed in Mujahideen’s planted mines in different parts of Marjah town of Nad Ali district throughout Thursday. As per details, one of the U.S tank was blown apart by a blast on earlier Thursday as the U.S invaders were on an attack mission against Mujahid in Seh Patang area of Sefen in Marjah, resulting in destroying the tank with its American crew killed. Meantime, four tanks of the U.S troops have been struck by planted IEDs in Sistani area in the outskirt of Marjah since noon hours of Thursday. The report indicates at least dozens of the U.S. soldiers were killed or injured in the stated bombings which have taken place in Marjah town through much of the day. However, two of the U.S tanks were targeted in the separate bombings in the morning hours of Thursday. It is to be mentioned that some statements released by the enemy claiming that the U.S took control of southern Marjah and the National flag of the minion administration was raising there are no more than mere rumors, as a matter of fact, Mujahideen have the complete control of Marjah and its center Known as Laisa. Apparently, the U.S and NATO military spread such rumors to cover the losses and fatalities inflicted on them with every passing day during what they enemy call major operation in Marjah.

Interview with Qari M. Yousaf Ahmadi, spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, about the general jihadic situation in Helmand and the neighboring provinces. PDF at Scribd.com Views of the Occident Blog version
Thursday, 25 February 2010 05:27 Interview by Hekmat

Q: How do you see the current Jihadic situation in Helmand province and other surrounding provinces?

A: Mujahideen’s resistance against the enemy attacks in Marjah, Nad Ali district, has been continuing as per the plan. According to our previous predictions and assessment, the enemy has now been entangled in battles in accordance with our tactical plan and the enemy losses have been spiraling up with the passage of time. The Mujahideen have destroyed a great number of the invading enemy tanks in various tip-and-run attacks. In addition to this, they have lost several soldiers. Reports from the battlefield of Marjah indicate, that the enemy forces are suffering from sagging morale. They are trying to take out their besieged soldiers from the area where they were deployed on the first day of the operation. However, the enemy infantry and tanks are under constant siege wherever they are stationed. Whenever they try to wriggle off from the tangle of the siege, they come under attacks and ambushes of Mujahideen or hit by planted mines. Similarly, Mujahideen constantly launch missiles attacks against the invaders. The invading foreign forces have not made any advancement despite great material and life losses inflicted on them and seem to be trying to retreat from the areas. Two days ago, the invading enemy airlifted their soldiers from Qari Sadi, evacuating the area.

Q: At the beginning of the enemy attack, the enemy was speaking of their victories and advancement. Reports said that they had taken some areas. Western media also were repeatedly reporting their victories. What is the reality?

A: All that which happened on the first day of the operations were in accordance with our tactical plan. We wanted to deal a crushing a blow at the enemy, so we allowed enemy forces enter some areas without any resistance. The enemy thought, it was their remarkable advancement in the battle filed. So they boastfully claimed of having captured Marjah. Even some high-ranking official of the Kabul Administration held celebration of victory in Marjah. The enemy has no advancement at the battlefield throughout the past two weeks except heavy losses and casualties. They know now that their claim about capturing Marjah was not at proper time or before time. The enemy infantry are under siege in areas where they were airdropped on the second day of the operations. Enemy tanks and military vehicles do not find any way to go out of the villages where they have entered . The enemy now uses pedestrians’ paths because Mujahideen have mined the main road with IEDs. There are deep-water canals on both sides of the main roads, which are not passable for enemy tanks and vehicles. Mujahideen snipers are targeting and ambushing them constantly. Wherever, the enemy intends to move, they face attacks and ambushes , mine explosions etc.

Q: In the past few days, the enemy had material and soul losses in Marjah. Please share with us enemy loss figures.

A: It is now two weeks since the inception of Marjah operations. According to reports from the battlefield, the following are enemy losses. We have given these figures at the disposal of mass media outlets from time to time.

Destroyed tanks 78
Foreign troops killed 382
Destroyed ranger vehicles 4
Domestic soldiers killed 36.

Similarly, Mujahideen in other areas of Helmand province have stepped up their attacks on the invading enemy simultaneously. According to data on our hand, 51 foreign and 23 domestic soldiers have been killed as yet. 17 tanks and 6 military vehicles of the enemy have been destroyed in the said areas.

Q: What is your opinion about the Jihadic situation in other neighboring provinces of Helmand. Reports say that high momentum is seen in Jihadic activities in this year particularly in this severe winter in comparison with other previous years.

A: Yes, You are right. In the current year, Mujahideen of neighboring provinces of Helmand, launched devastative attacks against the enemy causing great losses to them. We have been witnessing simultaneous attacks of Mujahideen on the invading foreign forces. This has given the enemy the jitters and diluted their manpower to focus only on one area. Despite the harsh winter, enemy had great losses. Figures about the invaders losses indicate that Mujahideen activities have spiraled up in these province as follows.

Kandahar:
Foreign troops killed 28.
Domestic troops killed 33.
Destroyed tanks 5.
Destroyed ranger vehicles 5.

Farah:
Foreign troops killed 29.
Domestic troops killed 17.
Destroyed tanks 8.
Destroyed military vehicles 3.

Zabul:
Foreign troops killed 3.
Domestic troops killed 26.
Destroyed tanks 1.
Destroyed military vehicles 4.

Uruzgan:
Foreign troops killed 5.
Domestic troops killed 19.
Destroyed tanks 1.
Destroyed military vehicles 3.

These figures of enemy losses show their losses occurred in a few provinces. If we count enemy losses at country level, we see clear impetus of Jihadic activities and escalation of the invaders casualties and materials losses. Even some high-ranking enemy officials admit the achviements of the Mujahideen. So we can say as a whole, the Jihadic situation is convincing. With the help of Allah, we are not facing any obstacle that could not be overcome.

Q: Dear Mr. Ahmadi! The Marjah operation is believed to be an experimental operation to test the new American strategy. Do you think the enemy would be able to reach their goal by launching such operations?

A: It is experimental operation. This is true. The enemy openly admits that Marjah operations were a test for the new strategy . If this is true , the enemy should have known by now that their defeat is definitely a certainty. We see the situation of the battlefields in Marjah is going against the wishes of the enemy and they have no gains. They resorted to every kind of propaganda stunts to boost their position but have no advancement for the last two weeks. The reason for the enemy’s failure is that they have not learnt from the past eight years’ experiences. They want to show their muscles once again under the name of new strategy and prolong their occupation of the country. However, such adventures only add to the enemy losses. They have to face life and material losses. On the other hand, the civilian casualties and their compelling of common people to leave their homes cause deep anger and resentments among the masses. The enemy has to review their policies as regards to our country. This is now an accepted fact, that Americans and other invaders are not able to continue occupation of Afghanistan through military means. It will be better for them to pull their forces out of our country and leave the Afghans to live under the shade of an Islamic system.

Hekmat: Thank you for the time to give interview.

Ahmadi: Thank you.
