Insensitive Blog Post about Latest Canadian Injured

I counted to 1,000 before sharing this one with you.

The Crooked in Canada blog decided to post regarding this week’s incident where a Canadian soldier was found with a gunshot wound at Kandahar Air Field – from the post:

“Did you hear about the Canadian soldier that went to Afghanistan but couldn’t find the enemy?

Just kidding, a wounded Canadian soldier is nothing to joke about, but when a soldier shoots his or herself you can’t help but make a joke about it, especially when the how and the why he or she shot himself isn’t being revealed.

A Canadian soldier who was maybe looking to getting out of serving in Afghanistan has managed to shoot his or herself and according to the limited reports coming out of Kandahar, the self-inflicted gunshot wound was accidental. Hmm…

Maybe it was one of those deliberate kinds of accidents. You know the kind of accident I am talking about, the one that helps get somebody out of a jam, or away from a place he or she just doesn’t want to be in, like a war zone for example.

Having said that, I wonder how many Canadian soldiers have thought about shooting themselves to avoid having to serve out their tour of duty. Surely there are a few soldiers who have thought of that as an easy way out, right.

I wonder if the wounded soldier was aware that the so-called “fighting season” in Afghanistan is over now. I’m thinking if he did know [that] he might not have accidentally shot himself.”

Classy….

Notwithstanding that we don’t know what happened yet, I wonder how Crooked in Canada would feel if he read such a public post about a loved one of his who was injured in an accident?

I wonder how Crooked in Canada would feel if he read such a public post about a loved one who tried to commit suicide?

Some advice:  Engage brain before hitting “post”.
